Plush Sleepy Puppy PDF Pattern Step by Step (2)

Today, we are going to make a sleepy puppy amigurumi toy. Let’s start making this toy with a very detailed and instructive pattern. First, let’s get to know the toy a little. This cute puppy amigurumi was designed by crochetbyempanada and has been turned into a very instructive crochet pattern. Since it is published for free, I will also introduce you to this pattern. The dog amigurumi is designed in a sitting position, which greatly adds to the cuteness of this toy.

Plush Sleepy Puppy Crochet Amigurumi Pattern

The crochet dog has quite thick legs and arms. This will make it a wonderful toy for children. If we talk about the dog’s ears, we can say that they are much larger than ideal dog ears. In fact, ears similar to bunny ears have been used in this dog amigurumi toy.

Regarding the materials used, the toy is made with soft-textured thick yarn. It is recommended that you use a 4.5mm crochet hook to make the dog. Since we will make the toy’s eyes and nose with yarn, we will not need safety eyes. Let’s go into a little more detail and learn how to make the toy.

Designer: crochetbyempanada

Required Skills

• Rnd – round
• Sc – single crochet
• MR – Magic Ring
• Inc – Sc increase
• slst – slip stitch
• dec – sc decrease (I use the invisible decrease, but use what you are comfortable with.)
Basic sewing
Fasten off (FO)- Chain 1 and cut a tail.

First, we will make the dog’s large and thick upper legs. After starting with a magic ring, we do increasing stitches for the first 3 rounds, and after 1 round of decreasing stitches up to the 1st round, we will continue with single crochet. At this stage, you can start stuffing the toy’s legs. Then, we complete the process by decreasing stitches up to the 13th round.

Our next part is the toy’s lower legs. The dog’s lower legs are crocheted 3 rounds shorter than its upper legs, but the structure of the legs is designed in a very similar way to each other. Let’s crochet the lower legs as well.

Bottom Legs (*2)

We will crochet the body of the toy in 14 rounds, and we will start with a magic ring. We will create the body step by step using very basic crochet techniques. In the 5th and 13th rounds, we will sew the legs to the body. After the 13th round, you can stuff the toy’s body.

Nose

Using Color B
Embroider horizontally between Rnds 2 of the head. (Going over the Magic Ring). Do this 4 times, then embroider 1 vertical line over the MR, from the center of the nose you just embroidered. Tie ends together and weave them into the head. (see above image for reference).

Face Shaping

To shape the face. Take some acrylic yarn close to your body color.
Starting under the head, go up and out the inner corner of one eye, go up 1 stitch and back into the head.
Weave to the inner corner of the other eye and go down 1 stitch, then into the head.
Finally weave back to the stitch under the head. Pull lightly and tie ends together to secure.
I don’t have photos of this step. So if you are a Visual learner, please take a look at my YouTube Video for help!
