First, we’ll crochet the head, body, and tail as a single piece using blue yarn. We start with a magic ring and 6 single crochets, then continue shaping the toy by increasing stitches in each round. For the body part, we work with 24 single crochets and then decrease stitches to complete the shape. Finally, curl the tail inward and sew it to the body of the seahorse.
HEAD & BODY & TAIL
Use Blue yarn:
• Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
• Round 2: (inc) repeat 6 times (12)
• Round 3: (sc, inc) repeat 6 times (18)
• Round 4: (sc, 2 inc) repeat 6 times (24)
• Round 5: 24 sc (24)
• Round 6: 24 sc (24)
• Round 7: (2 sc, dec) repeat 6 times (18)
• Round 8: (sc, dec) repeat 6 times (12)
• Round 9: 12 sc (12)
• Round 10: (sc, inc) repeat 6 times (18)
• Round 11: (2 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (24)

• Round 18: (sc, dec) repeat 6 times (12)
• Round 19: 6 dec (6)
• Round 20: 6 sc (6)
• Round 21: dec 1 st to make 5 sts (5)
• Round 22: dec 1 st to make 4 sts (4)
• Rounds 23-34: 4 sc (4)
• Fasten off and wrap the tail inward before sewing it to the body.
Embroider the eyes using black thread between Round 4 of the head.
To make the snout, we’ll also use blue yarn. Start with a magic ring and crochet 5 single crochets. You will need to sew the snout onto the 5th and 6th rounds of the head. If you prefer a thinner and smaller snout, you can adjust the number of single crochets instead of changing the number of rounds.
NOSE
Use Blue yarn:
• Round 1: Work 5 sc in MR (5)
• Round 2-6: 5 Sc (5)
• Round 7: 1 sc x1 (6)
• Round 8: 1 sc x1 (7)
• We sew it on the 5th and 6th rows of the head with a needle.
You’ll need white yarn to make the fin of the plush seahorse. Start by chaining 18, then work slip stitches and chain 3 on each chain stitch to create the wavy effect. Sew the fin from the top of the head down to the neck.
FIN
Use White yarn:
• Make Chain 18, turn.
• Starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, work the following in each stitch across: (sl st, ch 3) repeat this pattern until the end of the chain.
• Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
• Sew the piece tightly in an upright position from the top of the head down to the back of the neck.
We’ll also use white yarn to make the cute little arms of the seahorse. Let’s begin! Start with a magic ring, and in each round, work double crochets and chains. Sew the arms onto the 4th round of the body. That’s it!
ARMS (MAKE 2)
Use White yarn:
• In a magic ring:
• Make 2 double crochets (dc)
• Chain 2, then make a slip stitch (sl st) into the ring.
• Make 2 more double crochets (dc)
• Tighten the magic ring.
• Wrap a piece of yarn around the center to shape the bow. Sew it onto Round 4 of the body using a yarn needle.
Congratulations!
You just finished your toy!
