Dear friends, today I will once again introduce you to a lovely crochet amigurumi doll. The name of our toy is “Face Plant Doll”. The crochet doll is made using a design technique that resembles a plant. You can see various leaf patterns on the doll’s body, similar to clover leaves. However, the most impressive part of the doll is, of course, the flower-shaped hat. Actually, calling it a hat might be a bit misleading because it is already a part of the doll.
Face Plant Doll Crochet Free Pattern
All parts of the doll are crocheted separately, and to make the doll, we will need to create 8 different pieces. By the way, there are 2 different versions of the flower on the doll’s head. You can choose whichever flower design you prefer. You will need 5 different colors of yarn to make the crochet doll. For the doll’s eyes, you will need 10mm safety eyes.
By the way, you definitely should see the other photos of the doll. I’m showing you the test product photos, but the original photos are truly amazing. You should definitely check them out to get an idea. If everything is ready, let’s crochet the doll step by step.

Assembly
Attach the body to the head.
Sew the flattened side of the body to the bottom of the head between R2 and R3, making sure the eyes are pointing forward. Optionally, you can sew a few stitches from the back of the head to the back of the body, to keep the head in place, but attaching the arms will do so naturally.
Attach the legs onto the body.
• Do this diagonally between R7 and R9, with 2 stitches between both legs.
Attach the arms to the body.
• At the same spot where you attached the body to the head. You can attach them next to each other, diagonally or vertically.
Attach the flower to the head.
• Sew the middle of the flower onto the head, attach it between R4 and R5 in a circle.
Attach the clover and the leaf.
• I decided to sew the clover onto a buttcheek and the leaf in between the head and the back.
Embroider some blush beneath the eyes.
Shaping the bum
NOTE: Use yarn of the same color as the body. Chenille yarn tends to snap if you pull it too harshly, so be careful when tightening. If you don’t want to risk having to redo this step a couple of times, you can always use a piece of cotton/acrylic yarn for this step in a color close to the body.
Insert a piece of yarn between R6-R7, making sure to pick a spot that is in the middle of the back. Make the yarn leave between R6-R7 on the opposite side of the MR (between the legs).
Tighten thoroughly. Do the same a couple more times until the cheeks are sufficiently juicy.
Make your starting and final end come out of the same random stitch somewhere else, tie a knot and weave in the remainder.
