I would like to introduce to you a beginner-level amigurumi doll in general terms. In the photos, you can see two amigurumi toys, and first, I shared a photo of a test product. In the photo below, you can see the original design of the doll. Although the toy has a basic structure, the only part that might challenge you while making it is the flower petals. For this part, you will need to use some slightly more complex crochet techniques.

You will need three different colors of yarn to make the doll. The size difference between the toys is mainly due to the thickness of the yarn used. It’s clear that a thicker yarn was used in the test product compared to the original design. I personally prefer larger toys. Even though the stitch count is the same, the making process of larger toys tends to progress faster.
There aren’t many options when it comes to decorating the doll. The most basic changes you can make are painting the doll’s cheeks or creating the eyes using yarn. The choice is yours. Now, let’s take a look at how the pattern pieces are crocheted.

Petals
in white
For the petals, you may have to adjust the count and total number of petals needed. This is due to differences in yarn choice, tension, stuffing, and crochet style (yu/yo).
Petals: begin with a chain of 49 and measure the chain around the head of your flower. If this chain works for your head begin: (sc, {hdc, dc}, {dc, tr, dc}, {dc, hdc}, sc, slp st) x 8
Fo and leave a long tail to sew to the head.
To make adjustments: Each petal takes 6 chain spaces to complete so you will need to make your chain a multiple of 6 (+1) and repeat the above instructions for the total number of repeats.
For example: a starting chain of 43 would equal 7 petals, a starting chain of 37 will give you 6, a starting chain of 49 will give you 8, and a starting chain of 55 will give you 9.
Assembly
• Pin the petals into place around the head; depending on where you measured your starting chain, you may have to play around with placement to space them evenly. Sew the petals in place.
• Use the tail from the first leg to sew up any gaping left from joining your two legs together.
• Add blush, keychain & any other details you would like!
