Bunny Lou with Collar Amigurumi PDF Pattern (2)

Dear friends, today I want to share a rather interesting bunny amigurumi pattern designed by amysrkives. Since there have been quite a few test products of this bunny amigurumi toy, I wanted to introduce you to the photos of the toy’s test products. If you would like to see more photos or the original toy of the amigurumi pattern, you can visit the designer’s Instagram profile by clicking the link below.

Although the toy has a slightly different look due to its hat and collar, you can clearly see that it’s a bunny when you remove these pieces. You will see this when you look at the toy’s making stages. Another important detail is that the toy is actually a beginner-level design. The only problem here is that the toy is created by bringing together many parts. However, I think this toy will be quite educational for you.

Regarding the materials, the designer recommends using acrylic yarn, but in the photos here, you can see that the toy is made using chenille or velvet yarn. I would like to remind you again that these are test products. You can make the toy using any yarn you wish.

Bunny Lou with Collar Amigurumi PDF Pattern (3)

My bunny turned out to be 9 centimetres tall and 11 centimetres wide, but feel free to use any type of yarn of any size according to your preference.

First, we start with the head of our bunny. After starting with a magic ring, we crochet the head of the toy with increasing stitches up to the 5th round. We will only do single crochet stitches between the 6th and 7th rounds, and we need to do decreasing stitches up to the 13th round. Don’t forget to stuff the head of the toy during this time. We will create the bunny’s eyes in the last section.

Head:

R1: 6 sc in mr (6)
R2: 6 inc (12)
R3: (sc, inc) repeat 6 times (18)
R4: (2 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (24)
R5: (3 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (30)
R6-R9: sc all around (30) (4rounds)
R10: (3 sc, dec) repeat 6 times (24)
R11: (2 sc, dec) repeat 6 times (18)
R12: (sc, dec) repeat 6 times (12)
Stuff tightly
R13: 6 dec (6)
Do not fo, continue with the body.

Our next part is the body. Without cutting the yarn, we continue from the head of the toy. We will crochet the body for 9 rounds and then stuff it. One of the biggest indicators of the toy’s unusual design is that its body is smaller than its head.

Body:

R14: 6 inc (12)
R15: (sc, inc) repeat 6 times (18)
R16: (2 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (24)
R17-R20: sc all around (24) (4 rounds)
R21: blo (2 sc, dec) repeat 6 times (18)
R22: (sc, dec) repeat 6 times (12)
R23: 6 dec (6)
Stuff tightly, slst, ch 1 and fo.

Now we will crochet the ears of the toy. After starting with a magic ring, we will gradually do decreasing stitches. It is recommended to stuff the ears, but it is important to do this stuffing lightly.

Ears:

R1: 6sc in mr (6)
R2: 6 inc (12)
R3-R4: sc all around (12) (2 rounds)
R5: (sc, dec) repeat 4 times (8)
R6-R7: sc all around (8) (2 rounds)
start stuffing lightly
R8: (2 sc, dec) repeat 2 times (6)
R9: sc all around (6) slst, ch 1 and fo, leave a long tail for sewing.

We start with a magic ring for the arms, which we will make by crocheting 7 rounds. We will simply create the arms by doing 1 round of increasing stitches and 1 round of decreasing stitches, and we will lightly stuff them.

Arms:

R1: 5sc in mr (5)
R2: 5 inc (10)
R3-R4: sc all around (10) (2 rounds)
R5: (3 sc, dec) repeat 2 times (8)
R6-R7: sc all around (8) (2 rounds)
Slst, ch 1 and fo
Leave a long tail for sewing.

Sew along the edges for both ears and arms as shown.

Our bunny’s legs are also quite tiny. In fact, they are smaller than the toy’s arms. We will crochet them in 4 rounds, and we will again start with a magic ring.

Legs:

R1: 6 sc in mr (6)
R2: (sc, inc) repeat 3 times (9)
R3: blo sc all around (9)
R4: sc all around (9)
Slst, ch 1 and fo
Leave a long tail for sewing.

Bunny tails have a round structure. Therefore, you will need to stuff the tail. Although its size is small, a nicer look will emerge when you stuff this piece.

Tail:

R1: 6 sc in mr (6)
R2: (2 sc, inc) repeat 2 times (8)
R3: sc all around (8)
Slst, ch 1 and fo
Leave a long tail for sewing.

Now we will make the accessories that make the bunny different. First, we start with the collar. We crochet the collar in a single round as a long chain. Then we will make the hood and complete the process. These pieces will make the toy look quite decorative. If you wish, you can make the toy much more beautiful by using a little paint as well.

Collar:

Ch 22
R1: skip 3 ch, place 4 dc in every chain until the end (the turning ch of 3 also counts as a dc)
Ch 1 and fo

Bonnet:

Ch 32, fo
Insert yarn into the 9th chain, ch 2 and place 3 hdc in each chain for the next 16 chains and slst
Turn your work, ch 2 and repeat the same for the 16 chs on the other side of the chain
Slst, ch 1 and fo

Assembly

Embroider / attach eyes in r7, 5 stitches apart in brown (see grid for reference)

Attach the ears at the back between row 6 and 7, 9 stitches apart
Sew the arms between the head and the body in r 14 approximately 3 stitches apart
Sew the legs between r 18 and r 20, 2 stitches apart

Sew the tail at the back between r 18 and 20 just like the legs
Now wrap the bonnet around the head, the collar around the body. You can either use glue or sew them to secure it in place. Weave in and hide the ends
Add a generous amount of blush in the cheeks, ears, arms, legs and tail
Lastly, you can add ribbons, lace trims, beads, charms, etc to make it uniquely yours!!!

Andddd that’s it!!! Now you have your very own lacey bunny. Thank you so much for making this with me, please make sure to tag me on instagram, so I can see your lovely creations 🙂
