What is amigurumi?
Traditionally, amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting stuffed animals. However, this definition has been expanded in recent years to include dolls, food, and all kinds of other cute household items. Actually, anything can be amigurumi if you just put your eyes on it and a sweet smile!

Amigurumi are usually made in pieces using single crochets worked in the round. For this reason, all amigurumi have a very similar external appearance. This is good news because while beginner crochet hookers need to learn at least three stitches to start with a basic scarf, the amigurumist only needs to learn one stitch to get started!
