Bitty the Butterfly Amigurumi Plush PDF Pattern (2)

I will introduce you to a cute butterfly amigurumi pattern called Bitty, which actually has an image resembling a bee. Crochet toy is quite suitable for my beginner followers. You need to use the recommended materials to finish the toy, which is usually made with simple crochet techniques, in a short time. Although the crochet butterfly has a simple body structure, its very thick and large wings look really great.

Big Winged Butterfly Bitty Crochet Pattern Step by Step

Another detail that will make your job easier while making this toy is that the butterfly’s arms and legs are made using a simple bobble stitch technique. In this way, you will get rid of making 4 pieces. The butterfly’s wings consist of 2 pieces and you will need to make a total of 4 pieces. This may be a little boring, but remember, the appearance of the butterfly’s wings is very important.

The materials used when making the crochet butterfly are stated very clearly. Especially sharing the yarn colors and brands used will make your job easier. It is recommended to use a 4mm crochet hook when making the crochet butterfly. You need to use 12mm safety eyes for the butterfly’s eyes. Let’s get started!

Sewing & Finishing Touches

Sewing:

Place both wings on the back of the butterfly so that there is no gap between the wings. Sew both pairs of wings on. Use the leftover yarn tail of each pair of wings to pull the wings close to the body by pulling the yarn in and out of the body and wing. Use the photos below for reference. Hide remaining yarn tails.

Pull through body
Pull through a stitch in the wing
Pull back through body
Pull through other wing and back into body to hide tail

Antennae:

Using your main body color, insert your hook between rounds 11-12, pull yarn through, and chain 3. Starting in the 2nd chain from hook, make 2 slst, then slst back into the body. Fasten off and hide remaining tails. Repeat on the other side for the second antenna.

Using pink yarn, add blush between rounds 8-9 about 1 stitch wide.
Using black embroidery yarn, add a mouth on round 9 about 2 stitches wide.
